Code of Conduct
Purpose
MAEVE is a non-profit charitable organization serving its members, their families, and their communities. We are dedicated to empowering all who mother in support of one another and their communities. The MAEVE Code of Conduct is one of the ways we put MAEVE’s values into practice. These guidelines have been established to ensure that our leadership and members are best able to create chapters which are emotionally and physically safe, supportive, equitable, and enriching. Your commitment to the highest standards allows us to attract engaged members, build supportive villages, and empower our members as leaders in their local communities.
It is the expectation that any person who has made the commitment to be a MAEVE member shall bear the responsibility of following this Code in both letter and spirit.
We have a duty to protect our members and ensure that participation in either MAEVE National organization’s or local chapter programming is subject to the observance of the organization’s rules and procedures. The activities outlined below are strictly prohibited. Any member, board member, family member, participant or staff member who violates this Code is subject to immediate expulsion.
Policies
Abusive language towards a member, participant, staff member or volunteer.
Discourtesy or rudeness to a member, participant, staff member or volunteer.
Verbal, physical or visual harassment of another member, participant, staff member or volunteer.
Racist, sexist, sexually prejudice, ageist, classist, or religiously intolerant behaviors or actions toward any individual or group.
Actual or threatened violence toward any individual or group.
Conduct endangering the life, safety, health or well-being of others.
Failure to follow any agency value, policy or procedure.
Bullying or taking unfair advantage of any member or participant.
Bringing onto MAEVE National property or members’ property, or bringing into MAEVE National or chapter events, dangerous or unauthorized materials such as explosives, firearms, weapons or other similar items.
Abuse of alcohol at MAEVE National or chapter events or use of alcohol by a member at any event where the member is the sole parent on-site for the members’ children.
Possession or use of illegal drugs at MAEVE National or chapter events or reporting to events while under the influence of illegal drugs.
By completing the MAEVE sign-up form, any member agrees to abide by this Code of Conduct and the rules described above and understands that they may be removed as a member if they, the member, or their family member, violate any of these rules.
